Through this school year in media, we have gone through some lessons, opportunities, stressful moments, and learning experiences. These new experiences taught me some knowledge and skills that I can apply to my life. Outside of the media class, media comes in handy in many ways in life.
One way media is useful is because I learned how to use correct grammar and punctuation. Grammar is super important, especially when we are writing the very dreadful, Inside Scoops. Now I know to capitalize school names, and to add commas in the correct places.
Another way that media is handy in life is how it taught me to multitask! For example, at home, I'm doing my homework, and my dog wants to play fetch so he brings his toy to me and I throw it across the room with one hand and type with the other.
Lastly, media class gives me an important responsibility and it makes me feel like a part of a team. Being responsible is kinda my thing *HAIRFLIP* Just kidding, I used to be so irresponsible but media taught me that responsibility is a very important aspect of life. In media, it is either be responsible OR DIE. Responsibility is really important in this class.
In closing, taking this media class is not only a report card grade, but also, it is a life lesson, opprotunity, and learning experience all in one year. This class may be stressful, but it is all worth it in the end. Many life lessons learned, and many more to come. Thanks for reading!
Wow! It is already 4th quarter! You know what that means! It is time for family night! The video that I am thinking about sharing is my recycling PSA that I entered in STN Spring nationals. I got honorable mentions for that PSA. I chose this video because that is one of my favorites and I'm glad that I made the deadline on my assignment. Family night will be a blast and I can't wait!
Hey ya'll! Nashville and Boston was so lit! We got to play in the snow, bond with our classmates, go to STN, eat new food, make new memories, and become a happy CKTV ohana. On this trip, I had the time of my life with my friends, but at the end, as much as I missed home, I was sad it was over. Here are some highlights of this supercalifragilisticexpialidocious STN 2018 trip!.
My first highlight of my trip is eating at a special restaraunt..............Cracker Barrel! (If you haven't went there before, I highly recommend it!) My next highlight is the STN convention. The thrill and the rush that goes through everybody's minds (during Crazy 8's) made us work that much harder to get from good to great! *ya see what I did there :)* Also, visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame was such an inspiration for me because I am a county music fanatic. Riding the subway was definitely a new experience, but that is what life is all about. Then... It happened.... SNOW!!! This is my aesthetic of the whole entire trip! Playing in the snow was the most gucci thing I did in my life.
I learned that the moments that great memories don't last forever, so you have to enjoy it while it lasts. I also learned to enjoy the little moments because those are the moments that you will treasure the most. Some things that I learned about my classmates are that they can be real tricksters! For example: (CKTV media student) called me and started fake crying and said they didn't make the deadline for their competition and got me crying too. Something that I learned about myself is that I love snow and I haven't known that about myself before.
In closing, Life is short, time is fast, no rewind, no replay, so treasure every little moment as it comes and don't let the little joys in life go to waste. Thanks for reading my blog!
I can't believe that half of the school year is over! for the remaining half, I need to change some habits and replace them with new goals. Some of my new goals are to finish Inside scoops on time, or even earlier. Another goal that I have for this quarter is so bring my grade point average to 4.0. for quarter 2, my grade point average is 3.875 and this quarter I will attempt to get 4.0. My last goal for this quarter is to be on places on time. Something I want to learn how to do better is to post assignments on my blog and website on time. In conclusion, these are my goals for the new quarter.
This week is Thanksgiving, which is a time of recognizing great joys and blessings we had in our lives, and in this blog, I want to share what I am thankful for.
The first thing I am thankful for is my parents, because they always support me when I feel down. my family is always there for me and always forgiving about whenever I get in trouble.
Another thing I am thankful for is school and the amazing teachers that make learning awesome. School is very fun for me, so I cherish school, and the teachers that make it fun but other students may think it isn't fun.
I’m also thankful for eating food and drinking water everyday. Without food or water we will die. We should be thankful for all that we have because some kids have nothing.
In conclusion, Thanksgiving is a great time to be thankful for all that you have, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
My media class have been in school for more than a quarter and I've had some time to think about how things are going. So far it has been busy with the lack of people and also challenging to adapt through tough situations. And lastly, how we can all improve.
Compared to last year, there are no 6th graders and there are way less students. I feel like there is a lot more work to be done but however, I don't have a year of media to compare this year to. I think it would be useful because we are all so busy with all of our work and 6th graders could be great helpers.
Some of the challenges are adapting to the radios and being a part of a team and not taking things as a joke and actually look at problems seriously. I can't compare this to last year because I wasn't in the advanced class last year because this is my first year in media.
One thing we can all do better is understanding when we need help and actually help if answer is known. I think this year of media is really busy and hardworking especially on the morning announcements, Some days.
In conclusion, media is a fun rollercoaster ride, but in actuality, there is a lot of stress, sorrow, work, long nights, more work, and the list goes on and on. Overall, there has been lots of learning from our mistakes, and trying our hardest to fulfill what has to be done.
This year is has been hard and we are not even 1 quarter into the year! In my opinion, there has been a WORK OVERLOAD!!! The only "work" I enjoy is transcriptions which you might find a shocker because most people think transriptions are boring. Here are some of my toughest challenges from the begining of the school year.
First of all, Inside scoops have been a challenge because we have to call schools and get information, then write scripts and then record ourselves saying the scripts and if we have a mistake, we have to repeat the process and it takes a lot of time out of our projects.
Second, making morning announcements scripts have been tough because of the work overload and I haven't been able to find any time for everything. I try to finish the things that are priority first and then move on to the second important assignments.
Lastly, Getting to the library for morning announcements has been challenging because there are not many people to fill in for the people that are late. Most of the time, I am on time, but sometimes I come about 2-3 minutes late because my bus comes to my bus stop at around 6:30 AM and I don't get to school at about 7:10 AM.
Even though there has been a lot of work, my team and I can try our best and we will get our work done. This year will be filled with even more challenges to come our way but with hard work we can achieve anything!
For this new year in advanced media, I hope to accomplish some goals to make me a better student in regular school and in the busy thrill of Advanced Media. With a new year for new improvements to make, there are new opportunities for better change to be not only a better student, but also a better person.
One goal I have for this year is to finish everything on time. That means no procrastination. Not procrastinating is very hard because I often put work to the side because I have to finish other things like chores. Overall, media is very important.
Another goal I have is to work hard with my team and get along with them. This is important for a successful year in media because without successful partners, our videos would look less professional.
My last goal is to not be late to any of my classes, working snack shop, and any of my media meets. Before I got into the advanced media class, I was pretty late to any occasions that I have to go to. Now that I'm In media, I have to be either early or on time to any plans I have whether it is media or life.
Goals are really Important for this year in media, and also regular life. Goals are a good thing to keep running throughout your life because If you don't have goals in life you wont progress as a student or a person.
